Expert's Choice Winner of the First BioRender Graphical Abstract Competition

BioRender expert's choice winner graphical abstract. It describes how rodents have three different jaw muscle configurations. The sciuromorph condition is more efficient for incisor gnawing and is good for eating nuts and seeds. The hystricomorph condition is more efficient for molar chewing and is ideal for a diet of grass. The myomorph condition is efficient at both incisor gnawing and molar chewing, and is ideal of a generalist diet. Based on the paper by Cox and colleagues, 2012.
